Fire crews tackled a fire at celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Paradise Street restaurant.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Firefighters confirmed they were called at 11:58 pm on Monday and fire crews on scene a few minutes later.
Six fire engines were initially in attendance at the incident which the fire service posted on their Facebook page ” involves a fire in the third floor of the property. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are using main jets to tackle the fire.”
Today a Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the fire broke out in a “plant room” containing machinery on the third floor and crews managed to contain the fire to that room.
“The remainder of the building was slightly damaged by smoke,” the spokeswoman added.
The fire is thought to have started in an “air filtration system”.
