We Celebrate International Chefs Day

chefs in action

On the 20th of October each year, we celebrate International Chefs Day!

The team at Shepherd Filters have had the pleasure to meet some of the most amazing Chefs from all walks of life over the many years that we have helped to keep their commercial kitchens to safer and cleaner.

Since its creation, by the Late Chef Dr. Bill Gallagher in 2004, Worldchefs has committed to using International Chefs Day to celebrate this noble profession, always remembering that it is a chef’s duty to pass on our knowledge and culinary skills to the next generation of chefs with a sense of pride and commitment to the future. Over the past years, Worldchefs has partnered with Nestlé Professional to teach children around the globe about the importance of healthy eating by hosting fun-filled workshops worldwide. In 2021 we were all still limited towards having workshops due to COVID-19. Social media and videos made by chefs were shared on social media, which became a big hit. The videos enabled 648 chefs reach over 93,000 children. Social media hits by November 2021 were at 183,409.

Chefs are all paying closer attention towards keeping themselves and others healthy. Having a strong immune system and eating “stress-busting” foods has never been more important. To ensure a healthy planet for future generations, chef’s also need to teach children the importance of food and the impact that food production and consumption has on the environment. This year’s campaign for International Chefs Day, therefore, is “Growing A Healthy Future.” It’s all about teaching children about healthy eating by encouraging them to be creative with food. With the Chef’s input, education and help, children will be able to create recipes out of healthy foods and support Healthy Food for the Future.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Chefs all over the world for the dedication to their craft, for making mealtimes an adventure, and for nourishing and educating future generations!
