Supporting People with Disability – Part of our Ethos

Supporting Australian farmers is part of our business’ ethos. So is supporting people with disability, something we have always done.

We are very proud of our partnership with Achieve Australia – a for-purpose community organisation that has been providing accommodation and services to people with a disability since 1952!

AchievAble Enterprises provides NDIS employment, training and support to assist people with disability to find and maintain a steady job.

Achieve provides the following services to Shepherd Filters:

1. Processing wool filter media into various sizes

2. Quality control

3. Packaging

4. Storing

5. Dispatching

The team ensures that each filter media meets Shepherd Filters’ strict specifications.

Employment is a cornerstone for independence and improved life choices that not only benefits the person with a disability, but provides social and economic benefits for the entire community. These amazing individuals can provide new skills and bring a wealth of creativity and innovation.

We need to recognise that people with disability bring valuable talent, experience and insight to the workplace. People with disability are an integral part of a diverse and inclusive workforce. The extent to which this minority is included in social, economic and civic life is also an important driver of future prosperity.
